In addition to causing decreased or lost vision, uveitis can also cause other eye problems that are not related to visual acuity. Glare, light sensitivity (photophobia) or eyestrain are some of the problems that can arise from the inflammation. During active episodes of uveitis, these discomforts can become quite severe. However, they may gradually dissipate as the inflammation subsides under treatment. Sometimes these discomforts may persist during periods of inflammatory quiescence. The eyes are extremely delicate organs and, for this reason, are easily affected by inflammation. The following is a list of simple tips to relieve these eye discomforts:

1. Place cold compresses over your eyes.

2. Turn off all the lights in your room, close your eyes and rest your eyelids. Turn off all the lights in your room, close your eyes and rest your eyelids. Staying in a completely dark place allows the eyes to rest because they do not receive stimuli from the outside.

3. Look at the horizon for 20 seconds without focusing your vision whenever you feel it necessary.

4. Take a break every 20 minutes when observing electrical monitors for several hours.

5. Activate the Night shift option on your electronic devices.

6. Adjust the brightness and contrast of your electronic devices to your liking.

Develop and implement any exercise or measure that you feel helps you, as long as it is not contraindicated by your doctors.
