Symptoms and effects:

 

• Loss of central vision or perception of a "gap" in the center of vision

• Difficulty recognizing faces

• Difficulty reading small or large text

• Difficulty doing detailed work  

 

Indicative:

 

• Central scotoma

• Macular edema (intermediate or posterior uveitis)

• Inflammation of the optic nerve (intermediate or posterior uveitis)

 

Sudden loss of central vision is a medical emergency
