Symptoms and effects:

 

• Non-stationary floating spots in the field of view, that move according to the movement of the eyes. They are found floating like “spiders or flies”.

• In severe cases, vision decreases considerably, thus making it difficult to read and carry out daily activities.

• They move similarly to a snow globe.

 

Indicative:

The presence of floaters is normal. However, a noticeable increase could be indicative of the following:

 

• Presence of cells in the vitreous as a result of uveitis

• Intermediate uveitis (vitritis, pars planitis)
